Primary Purpose:
Evaluate and provide leadership for student academic, social emotional, and behavior interventions across the district. Responsible for the effective and efficient Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) system with research-based strategies in compliance with state and federal policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master’s Degree
Texas Principal or Mid-Management Certification preferred
MTSS trained or equivalent experience
Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee approximately $50.00 paid by

Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of Intervention, Dyslexia, Section 504 services, and Special Education programs
Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and tiered instruction
Knowledge of the MTSS framework, Positive behavioral interventions and Supports (PBIS), Response to Intervention (RTI), Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and Restorative Practices, trauma-informed practices and family engagement
Ability to maintain a rigorous schedule and gather, collect, and classify data
Ability to maintain accurate records, disaggregating and analyzing date, developing and maintaining spreadsheets, monitoring and updating databases to drive improvement
Experience:
Minimum three (3) years’ teaching experience
Three years leadership experience

Instructional Management
The director promotes improvement of instruction through activities such as the following:
- Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of MTSS
- Direct and coordinate campus implementation of MTSS systems, including social emotional, behavior, and academic response to intervention services and guide student support team processes.
- Assist with designing interventions and monitoring responses to interventions for students in the MTSS program
- Assist principals and program coordinators in planning and implementing effective instructional staff development and curriculum implementation for identified students.
- Monitor and report student achievement data associated with the implementation of interventions
- Manage student intervention caseloads
- Direct and provide professional development on available testing supports and supplemental aids related to students receiving intervention.

- Demonstrate high expectations for campus level administrative staff(s) and students in meeting educational goals for identified students.
Organization Improvement
The director promotes leadership in efforts to improve the school or organization through activities such as the following:
- Help teachers and instructional staff develop research-based instructional practices that support the development of children’s language, early literacy, literacy, and mathematical background knowledge and concept development.
- Identify evidence-based intervention programs which may be adopted by the district to improve instructional methods in classrooms where needed.
- Keeps abreast current research and state/federal policies within the field
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams/departments to determine progress monitoring guidelines
- Serve as a liaison between Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, and Student Services for student interventions.
- Disseminate information to campuses and leadership on MTSS requirements from the Texas Education Agency.
- Organize and monitor the district Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports system.
Communication and Community Relations
The director promotes a positive tone for school or community relations through activities such as the following:
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and community by projecting a positive image that enhances the district's mission.
- Devise systems for clear and consistent communication of program information, keeping families informed and involved in the process of providing interventions for struggling learners.
Organization Management
The director manages administrative, fiscal, and facilities functions responsibly through activities such as the following:
- Promote the use of researched-based interventions in classrooms.
- Develop and refine maintenance of records and management of reporting systems.
- Facilitate a system of recordkeeping which includes methods for storage and transfer of records related to intervention.
- Ensure security and confidentiality of personal identifiable information.
Professional Growth and Development
The director provides leadership in professional growth and development through activities such as the following:
- Keep informed regarding instruction, PBIS, SEL, MTSS, and compliance issues.
- Obtain and use findings (including student achievement data) to improve curriculum and instructional program effectiveness.
- Provide continuous staff development for all staff, interventionists, and administrators.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise staff assigned by the Executive Director of Academics and Accountability.
Equipment
Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, printer, scanner, calculator, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to the position.

- Work irregular and extended work hours to include holidays and weekends.
- May report to various campuses within the district for a full work day.
- Work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress.
- Continual standing, walking, lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, and kneeling.
- Limited exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
- Frequent exposure to temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise, low or intense illumination vibration. Occasional exposure to biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi), work outside, work around moving objects or vehicles, work on uneven surfaces.
