Primary Purpose:

Direct and manage district’s transportation and vehicle maintenance program. Oversee maintenance of all district owned vehicles. Ensure safe and efficient operation of transportation department

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Certification:              

Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of supervisory experience in transportation and fleet operations

Texas Association of Pupil Transportation Official Certification (TAPT) or obtain within the first year of employment

 

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to direct and manage operations of a large fleet of vehicles

Knowledge of energy management and vehicle repair and maintenance

Ability to manage budget and personnel

Ability to coordinate district functions

Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

 

Experience:

Three years of supervisory experience in transportation and fleet operations

Five years as a bus driver

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge/Skills:

Bilingual in English and Spanish
