Primary Purpose:

Rides buses and helps driver ensure safe and orderly transportation of students.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Certification

Shall be subject to testing for use of alcohol or controlled substance that violate law or federal regulations
Safe driving record verified by Texas Department of Public Safety (meets and maintains liability coverage eligibility)
Valid Texas driver’s license
Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee

 

Required Experience:

None

 

Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively
Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam
Ability to operate safety equipment and adaptive equipment
Ability to work well with children
Knowledge of student discipline procedures
Ability to manage student behavior

Wheelchair lift, ramp, lock, specialized and adaptive equipment used by students, Safety equipment, reflective signs, fire extinguisher and two-way radio at bus driver’s request and other equipment applicable to the position.
